With the arrival of the first day of Autumn, the temperatures cooling, and the leaves beginning to change, Fall in New Hampshire is finally underway. Pumpkin spice-everything is in abundance, apple picking is in full swing, and many a Fall event is underway. But with Autumn comes earlier nights, trickster winds, and spooky mischief. It’s the perfect time of year to begin deciding which of the many New Hampshire Halloween attractions you and your fellow ghouls might want to go to. Let us help you narrow it down, by sharing some of our favorites!

September 24th-October 30th, 2016

Canobie Lake Park Scream & ROCKtoberfest Salem, NH
Home to a large theme park with tons of fun rides, Canobie Lake Park transforms itself into a frightful attraction on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Featuring five haunted houses, freaky live sideshows, Halloween-themed games, a pumpkin house, and six rock tribute bands, there’s a lot of spooky fun to be had.
Hours: Friday, 6pm-11pm; Saturday, 1pm-11pm; Sunday, 1pm-8pm.
Tickets: General Admission, Friday & Sunday, $34.00; Saturday, $38.00.

Spooky World Presents: Nightmare New England & The Haunted Hayride, Litchfield, NH
Best known for sporting 5 separate haunted houses, Nightmare New England won Best Haunted Attraction for 2016. Helping them claim that award is a mile-long haunted hayride, making this one of the biggest and scariest Halloween events in New Hampshire. In addition to the attractions, NNE also offers the Monster Midway, zombie paintball, go-karts, mini-golf, batting cages, carnival concessions, tarot card readers, fire-pits, and bars. There’s scary fun for everyone!
Hours: Fridays, 7:00pm-roughly 11:00pm; Saturday & Sunday, 7:00pm-roughly 12:00pm.
Tickets:  General Admission, ranges from $25.00-$39.00, depending on the night.

New England Curiosities, Portsmouth, NH
More interested in the paranormal and ghost stories? Try booking a tour with Roxie Zwicker and New England Curiosities. There are several types of tour available, including a Haunted Pubs of Portsmouth Walk, Legends, Ghosts & Graves Tour, and Historic Portsmouth Legends & Ghosts. Here historical stories and legends of New England, and witness some of the sites where hauntings take place!

Harvest of Haunts at Charming Fair Farm, Candia, NH
Home to four spooky events for one ticket price, the Harvest of Haunts is one of the more family-friendly Halloween attractions, with an age range suggestion of 8 years or older. Enjoy a spooky Horse-Drawn Ride through haunted woods, enter the Barn of the Dead and hear a frightening tale, hop the Tractor Bog Ride through a weedy swamp, or venture through the Infested Corn Maze.
Hours: Times vary, ranging from 6:30pm-8:30pm
Tickets: General Admission, $25.00

Downtown Manchester Zombie Walk, Manchester, NH
Would you rather be the one doing the terrorizing? Come to the 5th Annual Downtown Manchester Zombie Walk, and join in the fun! A free event open to all comers, you can be as creative with your zombie costume as you’d like. Prizes are presented at the end of the walk for best costume, and many of the local businesses are “Zombie Friendly.”
Hours: Meeting up time for the walk is 2:00pm, though you can arrive between 11:30am-1:00pm to receive basic zombie facepaint for free.

Halloween Howl, Concord, NH
Looking for Halloween attractions for the whole family can enjoy? Come check out Main Street Concord and participate in this free community event! Come dressed up in costume, and enjoy trick-or-treating at local business from 5:30-7:30. Other events include a dance party hosted by LNH’s Nazzy and Mya, the Annual Costume Parade starting at 6:00 pm, the Concord Fire Department Touch-a-Truck event, the YMCA Haunted Bus & Playground from 6:30pm-7:30pm.
Hours: 4:00pm-8:30pm (Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic during these times).
